Nobody’s Booth Babe

At events, teens flocked to Jody Ortiz’s table to glance at her romance books, so she created this story based on an independent young woman in Oklahoma who loves cosplay and attending cons.

Ortiz’s daughter, Inky Creatures, created the artwork for the cover based on her character sketch.

Nobody’s Booth Babe is mild spice, enemies to lovers, a slow burn, and healing romance based on true life events and bullying as a child experienced by the author.

Nobody’s Booth Babe

B.B. moved to Oklahoma City to leave her past behind. She found a new city, new handle, and new identity. What she doesn’t have is anyone who knows her real name, and she intends to keep it that way.

Marcus Smith drives the con circuit in a van named Gerald and sells prints under the banner that earned him the nickname “Boob guy.” His art is extraordinary. His reputation is complicated.

When B.B. knocks over his entire print display at Playercon, neither of them is prepared for what follows.

Nobody’s Booth Babe is a warm, funny, one-pepper con romance about craft, identity, and what it costs to finally say your whole name out loud.

Cover art by Inky Creatures.
